Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Botox, cosmetic fillers and other injectables are increasingly popular for treating wrinkles and expression lines, with some people even having so-called "preventative" injections. Anti-wrinkle injections are injections using fine needles to cause temporary weakness of the targeted facial muscles.  By weakening the muscles we can soften and prevent lines and wrinkles caused by expressions like smiling, frowning and laughing.

The anti-ageing properties when injected Botox relaxes muscles, preventing skin from creasing and causing wrinkles. It's effective for "expression lines", such as frown and surprise lines on the forehead and crow's feet around the eyes, and "turkey neck" – lines on the throat. Its main use is for dynamic wrinkles, which are wrinkles that are caused by underlying muscle movements. The muscles of the face are responsible for our expressions, but over time these expressions leave their marks – frown lines and crows feet are good examples.

On average the full effect of the treatment can last anywhere between eight to sixteen weeks. This can vary from person to person.  Some people will find that two treatments per year is sufficient to soften their lines, while others will prefer to be treated strictly every twelve weeks to stop muscle movement reforming.
